Mother of 9 year old and 6 year separated from children at BIL

    Welcome Underground, phoebepontiac!

I see TSA continue to push back harder and faster with every thing our side throws at them.

    That tells me they're desperate.

I take comfort in the phrase, "It is always darkest just before the dawn." I only wish we knew how much darker it is going to get because this stuff going on now, and now telling a mother to "shut up" and then to threaten a retaliatory genital groping, is just sick.

Fete- Would she mind people making a splash about her story without her name, but WITH the airport's?? Because this is SO INSANE, the yogurt-for-groping so hilarious, that it would be a real media hit, I think.
Obviously the TSA actions to remove children from their Moms and tell them to 'shut up' is seriously fascist--and this would come out-- but this story cries out for publicity.

I only wish Ernie Kovacs was alive to have fun with the TSA on this one!
  3. I agree and will speak with my step-daughter as soon as she gets home.

I think I just got sick reading this.

I know if any TS-Creep said anything to my children, I'd go absolutely ballistic. It wouldn't be pretty.

But that's just me. And I don't even have kids yet.

I know I sound like a broken record, but c'est la vie. It's not about security. None of this is about security. It's about power. It's about control. And when you give people -- any people, "ordinary" people, "normal" people -- absolute, unlimited power and control, you get abuse. It's a mathematical certainty. No, of course not Every Single Person will become abusive, but many will. And according to Zimbardo and Milgram, most will.

This is not the first nor even the second nor even the third time I have heard/read of TSA agents separating children from their parents and ordering them not to communicate. I've compiled other incidents in the Master List.

What gives TSA the right to separate children from their parents? There was a horrible case of an amputee mother a while back, not quite sure when, they treated her and her child brutally because the 4 year old hugged his mother. I suppose it's easier to molest them that way.

  7. Spoke to my step-daughter upon her return. She only wishes she had been recording this - it would have been sensational. When it was happening all she could think about was shielding her children from TSA and keeping them close. Recording never entered her mind however, for future trips she plans on being prepared.

Of course, as we've seen countless times, they try to prevent people from recording, punish them for it, detain them so they miss their flights, and employ various other forms of harassment and abuse when people try to record. I'm all for recording, surreptitiously or out in the open; people just need to be aware of what they're up against.

Would she mind people having fun repeating her story?
  14. Not at all, however she is worried about her identity and security clearance, which is higher than every TSO.

That brought up lipstick. I'm not carrying around a tube of lipstick.

What will stop the arrests are (1) civil suits resulting in hefty damage awards and (2) criminal sanctions for civil rights violations under color of law. Until we get (1) or (2) it's business as usual for crooked cops & prosecutors. Note that neither (1) nor (2) are likely to be applied directly to prosecutors since they are generally immune to actions for damages that result from malicious prosecutions.

Was there a conclusion to this story? Did they have trouble the next day?
